Summer Dreams (at 3am)

Everything seems so long ago
those dreams infancy unveiled slunk to shadow
Silence emblazened in their place

Nocturn's slight of hand knifing my gall
sharp slung prisms of relief barring my inward gaol
Ends splintered, crying into my wants

My nostalgia bears out in blackness an unfamiliar tale
that pardons the mind and polishes the soul
Memories child my madness, chilling its core
